- ½ oz Simple syrup
- Fresh mint (approximately 4 sprigs - about 10 leaves for muddling and 1 sprig for garnish)
- Ice (ideally crushed ice or very small ice cubes)
Muddle Mint and Syrup: In a Julep cup, gently muddle the mint leaves with simple syrup to release the mint's aroma.
Add Crushed Ice: Fill the cup about halfway with crushed ice.
Pour Bourbon: Add bourbon over the ice.
Stir: Stir the mixture gently until the cup begins to frost.
Top with Ice: Add more crushed ice to form a dome above the rim.
Garnish and Serve: Garnish with a mint sprig and serve immediately.
